The Eighth Man is always looking for opportunities to add to our media team in order to present the best possible content to the quidditch community. We are proud to announce the addition of Tyler Walker as a managing editor to the website’s editorial staff.

Walker brings a wealth of experience in both quidditch and journalism to the site. On the pitch, he holds a North Division title and MVP award as the playing coach of the Indianapolis Intensity in Major League Quidditch. His wealth of on-pitch achievements helped earn him a spot on the 2016 Team USA, even before playing an integral role as assistant coach and beater in the Final Four run of Ball State University at US Quidditch Cup 9. Off the pitch, Walker has served as a writer and editor for the Quidditch Post, where he also hosted the Great Lakes Quidcast. Outside of the sport, he serves as a junior executive board member for the Ball State University magazine, Ball Bearings, and a writer for the school’s paper, The Ball State Daily.

“We’re very excited to add another seasoned journalist to our staff,” said The Eighth Man Editor-in-Chief Amanda Dallas. “Walker’s experience within the community and in media will help us continue to provide quidditch with quality news services, analysis and more.”

At the Eighth Man, Walker will be tasked with reinvigorating the outlet’s content, formulating innovative article concepts and increasing production. He will serve as a managing editor alongside Ethan Sturm, under the leadership of Dallas.

“Being a part of The Eighth Man is a dream,” Walker said. “Since I joined the quidditch community the publication has been the most reliable source for information. I am excited to continue the tradition of excellence set by Ethan Sturm and Amanda Dallas.”
